Global Service Ambassadors, or GSA, is an organization at Texas A&M that myself and 5 others founded in 2019 after being given the opportunity to travel to a foundation called Fundación Educa Pueblo-Viejo in Tecpán, Guatemala to visit one of BUILD's medical clinics.
(to read more about this trip, please visit the BUILD page).
GSA is the mediator between existing Texas A&M organizations and the NGOs we've partnered with across the globe; NGOs like Fundación Educa Pueblo-Viejo.
Our mission is to find organizations at Texas A&M whose goal is to serve those in need and find them projects to be a part of in countries worldwide. Then, they would travel to these countries and serve.
As a part of GSA, I was appointed the position of CIO. Some of my responsibilities include:
~ Making the GSA website so we can better show potential partners and volunteers who were are and what we are trying to do
~ contacting potential Texas A&M organizations to see if they're interested in working with GSA
~ reaching out to potential NGOs to partner with and potentially send our volunteers their foundations
~ contacting NGOs about the projects and volunteering opportunities they need us to work with them on
~ Finding travel information about plane ticket costs and planning the itinerary
